Paleo Slow Cooker Pulled Pork



This Paleo Slow Cooker Pulled Pork recipe combines tender pork shoulder with a sweet and savory sauce made from natural ingredients. It's perfect for a hearty and flavorful paleo meal that the whole family will love.

Ingredients:

  • 4 pounds pork shoulder roast
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup paleo-friendly ketchup
  • 1/4 cup coconut aminos
  • 2 tablespoons honey optional, omit for strict paleo
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper adjust to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions:

To make the sauce, combine the apple cider vinegar, ground cumin, ground black pepper, ground cayenne pepper, coconut aminos, smoked paprika, honey if using, and paleo-friendly ketchup in a bowl

In the bottom of your slow cooker, arrange the chopped garlic and onion slices

In the slow cooker, arrange the pork shoulder roast over the onions and garlic

Make sure the pork is evenly coated after you pour the sauce over it

Once the pork is soft and easily shreds with a fork, cover and cook on low for 8 to 10 hours

When the pork is cooked, take it out of the slow cooker and shred it into bite-sized pieces with two forks

Put the shredded pork back into the slow cooker and stir in the onions and sauce

To allow the flavors to seep in, cook it on low for a further half hour

Serve the savory and sweet pulled pork over lettuce wraps or on paleo-friendly buns, along with your preferred paleo sides
